I am new to PSG and have a Baldwin era 6139 with the "barrell & basket" mechanism as opposed to bell cranks. I bought Bobbe's All Pull Maintenance video which is great, except that it doesn't address what to do with barrels and collars. It appears that, despite the fact that the fingers have single raise and lower holes, that this mechanism gives me multi raise/lower capability since a pull rod can be activated by any basket that it goes through, although I think setting it up and keeping it in tune would be difficult.

If I set up the guitar just using the tuners and stops, I have string return problems (sharp or flate, depending). It appears that setting up the barrels and collars correctly should corect this, but I don't want to try to just luck into the right procedure, as the odds are, I'll just make it worse.

Can anyone give me some pointers in setting up this beast?
