the first two picks are supposedly Carpathian Elm Burl, the rest are White Oak Burl. I don't like formica and I looked at solid wood but that got a bit expensive so I went with the veneer.

Excellent wood! You know, all the lacquer push pulls are veneer and it's just fine. In fact, some say using straight grain maple covered with veneer actually sounds better (rumor). I know my lacquer PP sound amazing so maybe there is something to that. Someday I want to do up a Push pull in Brazilian Rosewood Veneer Smile

Cheers

I have been playing 6 string for 50 years and I learned a long time ago tone comes from within. A good guitarist will make a poor guitar sing and a poor guitarist will make a good guitar sound like, well. I doubt the wood or formica etc has very little to do with it and take that with a grain of salt.

To me it's like the amplifiers I build, It's the sum of the parts and design that counts.

That's beautiful. Are you going to be able to show off the book matching?
