Can anyone recommend a good tutorial on theory and notation as applicable to the lap steel? I know a few basics, but could benefit from a bit more knowledge. |

See if you can get your hands on some old Oahu material. They pretty much wrote the book on lap steel.

Is your goal simply to learn to read standard notation on lapsteel? Or are you in pursuit of deeper understanding of the music you're playing (music theory)? They're two different things, calling for different study material. |

You might look for this book, this is an early edition but there are some later editions, you can learn from the master his-self! :
