Great informative interview with Lloyd. He sure has some insight into the evolving of the pedal steel guitar as we know it. Enjoy.

David, thanks for sharing this. Lloyd talked about some things that I had never heard before, like flying out to L.A. for a weekend to finish one song on Sweetheart (“One Hundred Years From Now”) and hanging with Clarence White.

We’ll excuse the interviewer for referring to the Wrecking Crew film as “Wrecking Ball,” but what was the deal with showing a 1966 photo of Gene Clark sitting at the console in a recording studio? In that portion of the interview the discussion centered on Sweetheart of the Rodeo and Gene had been gone from The Byrd’s for some time. A minor infraction, but that sort of thing is a little annoying.

But overall it was well done and it’s a pleasure to hear from Lloyd, he is always so articulate and brings an interesting perspective to any interview.

I wish for great success to Lloyd, Jay Dee, John Macy and the rest of the crew for the Sweetheart remake album!

Another great session with the master. I love hearing Lloyd Green tell his stories. The span of time he shares, the detail, the personalities, and his warmth are amazing.

Lloyd is so full of stories...and his memory is unbelievable. He has names, dates and events at the snap of his finger...

Kind Regards, Walter

Lloyd and Clarence White with the instrumental he was talking about. "All I Have Is Memories" was written by Byrds drummer Kevin Kelly (RIP). There is also a version with vocals.

Great interview thanks for posting that, very nice of you. I wonder if Lloyd would write a book, Like the Maurice Anderson book telling his life story, love that book. It would be great to read a book that tells all the true stories about all those legends back then, buddy, Hal, And maybe some of the secrets that was secrets back then, but are now released after the 50 year silence law lol.....I wonder if those guys did meet for coffee and discuss knee pedal combinations etc or we’re they competitive and silent.....I just want to know! He he
