I now have two versions of the song "Maybe it was Memphis" by Pam Tillis and neither one is the right one. ( of course the right one being the one with Bruce Bouton (I believe)doing a real pretty steel break and most of the fills/backup )

Can anyone point me to the right CD/album for the 'all steel' version?

I now have one version that is mostly acoustic with a mandolin break, and another version with real nice rock-ish 6 string break in it.

Thanks

I believe that the mix with Bruce's great playing was a radio-only mix. At least when my wife bought the tape/album back then, it had the guitar mix that I had never heard before.

B.B. weighs in here from time to time, so maybe he can help us out.

Sorry that doesn't help much,

Thanks David. That may make it a little difficult to track down then. But thanks for the insight all the same.

Anyone have any luck finding the version of this song with the Boulton Pedal Steel part? I would love to hear it again.

Here's a YT cut with the pedal steel solo about 1:45. I have no idea where you'd find a CD etc. Maybe an MP3 if you can get the album name from this one.

Are you sure Gary Morse didn't play on that cut?
I think he did.
It was an MSA guitar with 6K worth of rack gear LOL
