I have always thought that Emmons pickup bobbins were made of a black/white/black laminate plastic, leaving a white "line" around the edge of the bobbin. My new/old guitar has all-black bobbins. Anyone else have these? :- )
Thanks! |

Tom, all the first ones were solid black. Made of Plexiglass instead of the "nameplate" material. This was for the first two years only. Yes, I may have one around, buried somewhere. If I do, it's yours if you need it. Not to scarce, they look better to me than the "white lined" later models.
Which does your early Emmons have. I've forgotten.

Old Emmons
I Think the old Oraginal pickups were all black without the white lines. The old
pickups were Sharper, more clear
Chris Ivey has an old one of mine which
he calls Bitchen Purple, it was really old
and he reworked it, I wish I had it now

Bobbe-san you should be on vacation! Getoudda here! -L- Boy-howdy I love this guitar...
I cleaned it up some this morning -- you might see another post and it looks really good. It has just the right amount of wear to be a real pro guitar, but it is not beat at all --very original and cool. Thanks Bobbe, I owe you big time.
You reckon the original owner put much time in on it? Looks like the C6th neck got more use than the E9th, but both are so clean, he must have loved the guitar and kept it up. |
