It looks like a beauty and at least LOOKS playable (that isn't always visually evident).
I love the sound of the ZB guitar. It has a clear tone with a vintage midrange response that is like no other. ZB is in the ranks of Sho-Bud, push-pull Emmons, Fender, and Bigsby for having a unique, but truly vintage vibe built into the guitar.
We have a substantial ZB contingent on the Forum. I'm sure you'll hear from them sooner or later. I've never owned one, but have always admired the sweet tone of a ZB.
Mechanics are a bit wierd -- but some would say the same about a push-pull or a rack and barrel.

oh, and it's a D-11 which might seem strange, but Zane built a lot of 11 string guitars. Tom Brumley might have started that idea. The 11th strings on both necks can be very useful.

| Thanks for the info, Larry. Actually, D-11 sounds perfect for an extended E-9th to me. I'm not in the market, as I have a Shobud at Ricky's right now, but I thought this was an interesting guitar. How does that mechanism work? The flat crossbars? Do they rotate or pivot, or what? |

| I would only comment that I have an 11-10 S/N 0013, and Jim FLorence has a D-11, S/N 0017, that were ordered in 1968 and delivered in very early 69. His serial of 0090 being a 68 is probably not correct, but who knows. |

I've seen this one on the internet before. Looks nice. I did a pedal swap on my D10 yesterday. 1 to 3 and a "day" setup. Took about 3 hours and 50 cuss words. They sound great but can make you made as well. The back one in the picture is a D11/10. The 11 string is real nice.

Russ the Uni is slow. I have a PP on the bench now that I'm learning about for a customer and changing the set-up so all my time has been devoted to it. None the less
the 12str will live. |
