How to tighten the bolts. What kind of heads are these?

I don't know, but I think Fender maybe had a custom tool for these. But as it turns out you can generally work them okay with a flat blade screw driver large enough to fit into one "half" of the lug. I was able to tighten mine that way without much trouble. |

On any of the Stringmasters I have owned , that would be four , the nuts on the treaded rods have had a hex head . Is yours an early one? Earliest I have is a '56.

This bolt shows up on early longs scales, 53-55. I have these heads on my 54. |
