Here's my arrangement of "My Favorite Things" - a great tune for a cold winter's day. This is a straightforward rendition of the melody with a fast, jazz waltz feel.

These straightforward changes are out of the Real Book but there are many kinds of reharmonization that people do with this song. Pianist McCoy Tyner used 4th voicings with a low E in the bass on almost every chord on Coltrane's famous version of the tune. As just one example, some players use Emin11th chords to replace the Em7 chords and Em/Maj7th chords to replace the F#m7 chords. Coltrane also slightly changed the melody in places. It's a wide open road for experimentation. Enjoy!

You're very welcome. The trick with arrangements like this is to make it your own - it shows just one way to approach it. I've been trying some hindustani slide-but-stop-on-a-dime type phrasing with MFT which is kind of cool but taxes my rusty chops.

Thanks so much, Andy.
This song has such a wonderful rhythm.
I've whiled away a very pleasant winter's afternoon with your arrangement.
I really enjoy the tonal leap in bars 35 36. Very pleasing to sweep up the neck and then descend to that open stringed chord.

Huge thanks Andy. Looks good. I will download it and analyse the chord and sub choices soon. Excited.

Great work
