I just purchased an Oahu lap steel like the one pictured below. Can someone identify which model this is?

Your photo is a bit small to see detail, but that looks like the "Sunshine" model, early '50s. The finish is black lacquer, not MOT?

I really like the simplicity of this model. The knobs are out of the way and I prefer the screened fret markers to the raised plastic fretboard. My picks will occasionally click on the plastic boards.

Yes, that is the "Sunshine" model. All you need now is the matching amp:

Never ask the question what is it again for instruments from the National/Dobro Valco years.

Buy the book for a special Birthday (late christmas present unless you are orthodox Christian then it is still to happen!!!)
