Hello, for sale is this Dobro E-45-8 Lap Steel (circa 1984). Currently tuned low to high ACEGACEG. Sorry, no case or gig bag but will be packed and shipped securely.
From what I have read this is a 1980's tribute / reproduction of 1937-41 Dobro "Wood body Hawaiian" lap steel. Sunburst finish, bell shape, 8 string maple neck thru body, maple body wings, rosewood fretboard, dot markers, 24 frets. It has what appears to be a humbucking Bill Lawrence 705 chrome surround pickup with tone and volume controls mounted on metal plate, simple metal tailpiece, rosewood bridge.
Slotted headstock features cool Dobro shield logo, Tuners appear to have been upgraded from enclosed tuners to nice vintage style Grovers.
Very cool and unusual steel. $550 includes shipping to the lower 48 states. thanks for looking!
