Although he hasn't posted anything for quite a while, David Donald lives in Thailand, unless he's moved.

Hi John,
I'm in Viet Nam living in Saigon. Starting my 19th year here now, not counting the two years here in the army during the war.

Usually get to Thailand about once a year to visit friends there.
Where are you located in LOS?

Not a lot of steelers here in SE Asia.

The only sign language I know is the one used when someone cuts you off at a red light! Whoa! Laughing

Best wishes,
Andy

Hi John, I'm down in the islands somewhere north of Koh Samui. Got a good few old lap steels for sale here - wartime Rickenbacker 7 string bakelite in v good condition and a beat up 6 string wartime also.
Never met any other steel player in my 20 years in Thailand! I guess not too many of us here.

I live about 20 clicks out of Korat City. Nakhonratchima. I am broke at the moment. Hopefully the insurance company gets refund checks here soon. As you know one must pay up front here for medical since they do not trust us or our insurance companies. However, we need to meet up sometime so I can see what you have for sale.

What make is the beat up 6 string guitar?

I got 9 years out of 21 in Philippines, Cebu. Then I moved to Thailand, married and settled down. Have not been back to the States since June 1996.

Are you a veteran? Many vets here in Korat. I was never here during the war. I served 5 years Army in Korea, Japan. Then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard until I retired in 1978 with 22 years service.

How often to you get to Bangkok? We get there sometimes monthly.
