I have read several postings on tuning and adjusting with the old Barrel tuners - Is there any pictures available that would be helpful - like a parts breakdown fot the early models. Mainly to be able to look at a picture to know which item is which?
thanx.....Ron

What do ya wanna know??
First two shots are barrel tuning behind two-hole pullers on crossbars. Last shot is a barrel tuning pulled by racks.
You have knee lever mounts designated for which ever particular knee lever placement. You have the linkage to pull the crossbars or racks. You have the stops on the ledge or the "L" stops behind the knees. You have a single raise single lower finger assembly and you can raise or lower a string as many times you want; with the barrels pulled on one rod.
That's pretty much it.

Mine is the 2 hole pullers on crossbars - Little in the dark about how you tune multiple raises or lowers on one string - Do you do Your main pull first and the others with the barrels underneath -
Ricky - this is the old LDG I just bought and sent you a picture of - Just like yours in the picture.
Russ - Thanx for those closeups

Yes Ron; than yours is exactly like mine underneath; which is pictured first in my posting.
You engage the pedal or knee lever and that engages the barrel and pulls the finger. And when that happens; then any and all of the other barrels on that same rod; back away from its puller; and you are able to tune the barrel you engaged. Then let off that pedal or knee; and engage the other one on that rod with its pedal or knee and tune it the same way(by the metal tuner at the end plate with a allen wrench that turns the rod that turns the barrel)> pretty simple eh???
Having the thing set up properly is very important and some fingers will act/react differently; depending on the amount of spring tension on the lower section and if a raise spring is on or off certain raise sections of the finger. String gauge and amount of distance on the changes are also important. All these factors go into the way the barrels react when tuning/pulling the finger/string.
Just keep messin' with it; you'll get it...or eventually you can send it here and I'll set it up to play perfect for ya; for the rest of its life..ha.
