Hey decided to post my early unfinished music recordings into an album.

The entire album is recorded using an Ozark Dobro, even the bass LOL and a 25 key MIDI controller.
This album was heavily influenced by my love of songwriting and double meanings from the likes of Cat Stevens and Ben Harper.

I named it The Revolutionary - way back when as it was a Dobro being used in other contexts.

Have a listen to the preview and if you like feel free to buy and support.

The stuff I do now is all Jazz based but its funny looking at where I started from.

The Tuning used for all songs was Em.

E, B, D, g, b, d

No guitar or bass was used. Just Dobro and some creative ideas.

Stefan that wasn't at all what I was expecting and I really enjoyed listening to your samples. I do like the acoustic singer songwriter genre. reminds of David Gray, Scott Matthews and of course ben Harper. Makes me wonder what is lurking in the past of other members.........!!!!????

Appreciated. Thanks.

I used to create that sort of music and spend hours trying to EQ, compress a Dobro to sound like a Bass or use a distortion plugin and tweak it to hide the fact its actually a Dobro.

LOL. I played all the drums with the Keyboard.

Funny thing is as the album progresses you can hear when I got a Multieffects guitar pedal vs the digital distortion plug in. Man I was so chuffed.

I was also anal about keyboard drumming I used to spend hours at a time playing all parts live as I didn't want to use quantization.

LOL.

For the percussion parts I used sticky tape to tape certain keys together to get the two hand slap. when those keys were triggered.
LOL. Man those were the days.

Stefan, this reminds me we are all so much more than the shallow impression of us that our web posts promote to the world. Excellent stuff!

I dig the groove on Angel Station and the tone on How Blue.I did an experiment a few years back recording a clean Dobro lead over a distorted rhythm bed played on a National Reso-Rocket. It surprised me how well the mechanical acoustic resonator guitar could translate into a typical amp'd electric guitar sound via software.
