Well after a long wait I finally got Brownie back from Southbound. As many of you know Southbound is closing it's doors soon so this will be my last finished Emmons till I find someone as good as SB to do my finish work.
Anyway, here she is. I am guessing I won't get to the assembly till Jan sometime as I have tons of amp orders to get delivered. Whoever buys this guitar is going to be VERY happy...

That is stunning.
Will all the hardware come from one guitar?

Top notch, Mike. Love the burst colors.
Two questions. Is that nitro, or? And, how did you deal with the Emmons logo? Finished over a decal? _________________ Excel Superb U12, MIJ Squier tele, modified Deluxe Reverb RI, Cube 80XL, self built acoustics & mandolins |

Yes sir. This is a one owner guitar with zero mods ever. I didn't even have to fill any holes this time around:). It's a cut tail metal neck and a killer. I have all the original docs and receipt when purchased as well. Really special guitar _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

I do not like or use Nitro for steels. Vintage guitars yes but never on steels. This is urethane just like Show Pros. The decal is under the finish where it belongs ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Mike - What is your best-guess estimate of the number of hours of labor it will take you to reassemble the guitar?
I can't wait to see photos.

Yer back Mike, and not a moment too soon. Looks like It’s gonna be a Merry Christmas after all. Was a little worried there...radio silence and all, but it was worth the wait. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. All the best of the season from the great white north. |

Oh man, LOL.... I have no idea (Probably a good thing)
If I had to guess I would say 50 hours total. The real-time is not so much the assembly, it's the cleanup and restoration of every part, screw, wood, etc etc. Those who have tackled these know what I'm talking about haha! _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Hey Terry,
All good on this end. I had a few health related things I needed to get out of my way plus I have been doing tons of amps lately. I hope to get caught up by spring. I have 2 Deluxe Reverbs to get out of the shop, xmas, and new years, then I should have some time to get on Brownie and get her ready for sale. We'll see ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

That’s beautiful! Perhaps you could answer a question for me. In the guitar world older collectible guitars become worth less money if they have been refinished. Does this happen in the pedal steel world also? _________________ You are me as I am you |

Hi Bryan,
Well I think it all depends honestly and I am certainly not an expert. I have bought and sold many vintage guitars and still own a few and yes, a refined does lower the value on vintage guitars. Vintage steels I would say doesn't see the same effect on value. If fact, I would say a fully restored lacquer guitar would certainly be valued higher. Mechanically, it's almost a must they come apart and cleaned, polished, lubed, and re-assembled to even play to their potential.
Again, all this is only my thoughts and have nothing to do with fact

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate it. I hope to get the body together tomorrow and then start the under carriage next week. I have to admit I am pretty excited about this particular guitar. One owner machine and never even had a tool touch it before I got it. She will sing again real soon ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you
