Don't ya get any noise or buzz thru your amp from having the computor that close to the pickup?
I have to be careful with having my PC monitor within a couple feet of mine.
How does it attach to your steel?

Russ,
I suspect he won't get much buzz because it's an LCD display, not a CRT.
I have made a tray, which is holding a MIDI kekboard in the picture, but usually holds my laptop computer when I'm at home practicing. It sits close to the single coil pickup and there is no buzz.

Don't get any noise unless I have the ac power to it. Try to keep the battery hot
works fine that way.
I just run a patch cable from head phone jack
on laptop to second channel on my amp.
Works great .
Thanks for looking guys

Are these available commercialy to purchase from anyone? It sure looks like a good idea to me. It would sure beat having my lap top on a chair next to me.

George ,
I built mine from junk I had laying around
not sure anyone sell them like this.
Joey It just hooks over the bed of the steel
on zb and fender. easy on easy off
simple to build the one i made is out of stainless but aluminum would work just as well.
any sheet metal shop could make on in 15 minutes

I built mine from a garage sale photographic tripod (US $2.00), a cake rack from Walmart ($1.25), Aluminum bar + 1/4 X 20 drill bit and tap + 8 X 32 drill bit and tap from Ace (not Joey)hardware, and some velcro.
It has three functions: on the tripod for use with standard guitar etc., on a mic stand for similar purposes, and on the PSG as a swing away (front or end). The tripod head center lifts out, and drops into the mic stand, and the PSG mount (mounted onto the endplate.
Add the right software and you have a virtual preamp and effects rack. Add a Bluetooth dongle (USB) and you are wireless to your existing rack/amps etc. |

I have just about decided that the stand alone Tripod approach suits my purposes best, but for those that might want to mount to a leg, Joey's Drum hardware is a good route to go. An alternative is the Peterson VS II leg mount modified to hold the computer. You will have to build a "tray" to fit onto it.
Wall mount speaker brackets are possible components if you don't mind mounting to other than the legs (I don't like the idea of drilling holes in the instrument).
Jim West makes a product called "built to tilt" that is a possible component also. Jim Palenscar can fil you in.
Okay, on to the next project.
