Hi Bob:

I am now getting this warning when I log into the SG Forum by my Firefox Browser. Is there an upgrade that is required by the SG Forum to prevent this?

A while back Firefox thought they would save us from ourselves and make it more difficult
to log into a forum that was not encrypted.
It irritated so many people that there is now a work around to make that annoying notification disappear.

Yes, the Forum needs to have an SSL certificate installed to get rid on that annoying message. I have tried and failed to get it working. The problem is that our server's version of Linux is no longer supported, so Certbot (which creates and installs SSL certificates in Apache web server) won't run on it.

I have moved the legacy archive site to a new server and it is supporting SSL. But moving this very active and antiquated forum to that server has proved problematic.

There is a movement afoot to make all web sites in the world use SSL. It sounds like a good idea until you actually try to do it with sites that have been functioning for over 20 years!
