I have an A/B box that Brad Sarno built for me.Two inputs (steel/guitar) and single out (to amp).
Rotary switch to select.

In a pinch, I bought a "Livewire" one at guitar center for $50. It's good: totally passive so it works with guitars at an amp's input, or speakers at an amp's output. It has an "A and B" switch which hooks A in parallel with B (so don't do that if you are A/B-ing 2 amps with one speaker!!). It also has nice blue little LEDS that run off a 9V battery inside, but you only need the battery to run the LEDs.
