I've been researching C6 copedents (because I can) and of course one useful source is Winnie Winston's book, all the more interesting for being rather old now.
No fewer than three players are listed as having the same change which lowers the 9th string to Eb and raises 8 to Bb, 7 to Db and 6 to F. This gives an Eb9 (with #11 if you include the 4th string). It appears as pedal 4 (Doug Jernigan and Buddy Cage) or 9 (Jimmy Crawford). It seems a lot of trouble when F9 is only two frets away.
Two obvious questions - what did it do and how long did it last? _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
