A friend recently bought an SX guitar (pic attached). Has anybody been innovative and made a hand rest for it or have any suggestions.
Thanks.

I have one of the first batch of SX lap steels that Rondo brought over. It has a big chrome bridge cover/hand rest, similar to the "ashtray" on a Telecaster. Contact Rondo, they may be able to fix him up with one. Or look at what they have on guitar parts sites like Stew-Mac. |

Thanks John for that. I bought one of the early SX's with the stand, but I can't remember what the top looked like. It must have had the hand rest because I don't remember the problem. I end up buying guitars and selling them to my students. I know I didn't have that one very long before somebody wanted it. But I will go chasing the parts places. I'll do a little research. Thanks again.

Thanks Chris, I'll have to get together with my buddy who owns the guitar for dimensions.

WHOA! After I found and posted that, Facebook targeted me with this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/162552599201 That is the original chrome bridge cover/handrest on my early SX lap steel, that's sitting on the table beside me! This will fit perfectly, it only needs two screws and holes to attach it. |
