I have the metal hollow body with this tuning configuration. A friend made new tuning grips for me so it tunes easily and holds it tuning, but it is the nicest sounding 6 string lap I own. Someone should grab yours soon. Best wishes.

I'm fairly new to lap steels, and I have no experience with a "keyless" instrument. If I could be so bold as to ask: How do you tune this instrument?
Thanks in advance for your kind, and informative, responses.

With this steel, you use an allen wrench, press down on the tuner which is spring loaded and tapered, tune it to desired pitch and let it come up to locking position. It's really quite simple. I made a couple of keyless lap steels using changer parts. If you wish to see one, email me at jerico47@gmail.com and I'll send you a picture or two just for your knowledge.
The thing I like about the one I have like Bob's, listed above, is it fits so nicely on my lap and because of no tuners is nice and short.
This Magnatone would be a good buy for most anyone.
