The bridge must always be parallel to the nut at the correct scale length. |

Are we really mocking the blind? I mean, why would a blind guy design a see-through guitar, anyway?*
*In person, the above message would have been delivered in such a way that only the deaf might fail to see its irony. _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup. That is kind of cool in an odd sort of way.
However I would not want to deal with the fingerprints.
I have two all aluminum lap steels and the fingerprints drive me nuts.
I think that one might even be worse.
But I still want one......... _________________ I have stuff.

There is nothing wrong with this picture. Look at the nut and look at the cut along the Treble Side of the Fretboard: This Instrument is designed for Fretted String Style Playing, NOT for Tone Bar Playing! Kind of Cool, actually!
Maybe this should be in (Attempts At) Humor? Have a Good One! _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C. Clarke |

Everything is on YouTube I guess.

I confess to owning one just like this. I removed the six bridge pieces, twelve height adjusting screws, six length adjusting screws and springs. I then inserted a Rickenbacker bakelite bridge It has now become my favorite six stringer. |

I think what's really wrong with the picture is the leopard print. _________________ David K |

Yes, the frets are to be used, and thus the bridge is compensated. |

And hence my prior comment. Was not intended as a joke about blind guitarists. |

I never thought you were being insensitive, really it was comment with a lot of insight ( no pun intended) into the way lap guitars are played - most with a raised nut and a steel, others with frets and played by guys like Healy and Thumbs Carlisle.
