Hey Folks,
Despite my love for my '51 Dual Pro, I'm dying to make the big move over to pedals. Apparently I have first dibs on this Dekley (I think I even spelled it right). http://portland.craigslist.org/msg/81547392.html
I believe it is a 3&4. Is it a good deal? Good guitar? Anybody got a better one for around the same dough? Thanks a bunch,
Patrick[This message was edited by Patrick Munson on 03 July 2005 at 01:13 PM.] |

Hi Patrick,
I saw that one, too.
I'm steel'd to the Hilt for the moment (pun intended), but it looks nice in the pic's.
If you want a partner to go over and look at that steel with, give me a ring.

Patrick,
I picked up a similar Dekley a couple of months ago and am very happy with it. That is a good price: I'd say go for it!

can't see the levers, but if it has 4 of them it's a good deal. |

Hi Patrick, I'm pretty sure that that is the same 3+4 instrument that was at Morrison Bridge Music until about three months ago. I looked it over when it was there, unless a masterful tech has been into it you will have some major setup work to do, but all the pieces were there and working, just way out of adjustment. At that price I don't see how you could go wrong.
If you call Pete to go look at it, call me too, the very least we can do is show up and surround the seller and let him know that you have friends in steel places.

The steel is mine! Thanks to Pete and Dave's help and advice, I was able to get a GREAT price due to there being a few (fixable) issues with the guitar. I'm going to track down a few parts (a couple of legs and some end plate tuners, etc.) hand it over to Pete for some TLC and then, hey, I'll be one of you! Thanks to all for your input, and get ready for some stupid questions! (I promise to use the search function first).
Thanks again,
Patrick |

...reminds me of the scene from "The Dirty Dozen", where they're in France having a fire-fight with the Germans in the dining hall of an insane asylum...and one of the inmates grabs a gun, starts firing away at anyone in sight, and laughing diabolically, yells out "I'm sane...I'm one of you"
...welcome to the asylum, Patrick ...[This message was edited by Pat Burns on 05 July 2005 at 01:48 PM.] |
