Topic: C pedal with a half stop on a Derby? |

my Derby i just got off ebay (made as a gift for L.Green) seems to have a half stop on the C pedal. is this likely? i am not fimilair with this half stop (at least i don't think i've seen one) i find it hard to get the X7 with B+C pushed (C has 2 positions if you depress hard enough).
i guess i need to get the setup on this steel from Charlie ar Derby.

its not a half stop. the C pedal is soft or goes beyond tuning location if you push C pedal with some force. same on both E and B strings, but E going aliitle further being worst when C is depressed hard enough.
any ideas?

resolved. the C pedal was too 'tight' on the E string. when i adjusted correctly, E & B with C depressed worked OK.

| With all due respect, that particular green laquer Derby was built and subsequently purchased by Steve Helerich. Steve later decided to give it to Lloyd Green for personal reasons which were stated in an earlier post. It was not, "made as a gift to Lloyd" as mistakenly stated. It is, however, a most strikingly beautiful one of a kind guitar with superb workmanship, tone, and sustain, which is relative to all Derby steels. |

i will get it right one day. first, per seller per Charlie it was built for Mr. Grren, then the last i thought i read was it was built as a gift for Mr. Green. i really do understand how this can be embellished with time. i wonder how Charlie found out it was passed on to Mr. Green? i guess its a small world with a close group of players and friends like on this wonderful forum. i/m new but i dig it.
yea, it is a beautiful instrument. how do you post pictures on this site?
when was this steel built? i'll call Charlie later today and chat with him some. i need some info anyway.

you must be referring to the GP Festival in Waycross?
a few friends are talking about playing there.
i have a problem that the Josha Tree GramFest is on Oct 14 & 15 i think also? i need to get those dates straight.
the Waycross Parsons Festival is not put on by me but i do help sponsor it. Billy and David in Waycross do all the hard work.
if anyone is interested in coming down, i'll pass the info on.
