My Stringmaster D8 has the standard ground wire stapled to the wood on each neck:
Looking into this (on the internet) I have found some rather negative comments about this design.
Is the grounding adequate if the wires contact the control plates, or can/should the common grounding be made better by soldering a wire between pots on each neck?
Also, would it be helpful to add metallic tape to the well for the selector switch?
My goal is to put the guitar back together in the best way possible.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. I am a rookie with all this Stringmaster stuff. |

If those stapled wires make good, positive contact with the control plate, the grounds should be fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Metallic tape in the cavities may help with shielding and certainly won't hurt anything, but is not absolutely necessary. Even so, I almost always use it on my rebuilds. |
