I recently purchased this guitar and have
come to love it. As a beginner, I have a lot to learn. From what little knowledge I have, it seems my E9 undercarriage needs some help. First, I have a standard E9, with
3x4, and a few small changes. Looking under,
I have pull rods crossing over pull rods
(binding, string not always pulling to pitch) and pull rods going under cross shafts (starting to wear a mark in cross shaft). As I get ready to dig in, can anyone
post or email me a close up picture of what this hex shaft undercarriage should look like? I would like to say thanks to Ricky D.
for all the help he has given me to be able
to get this far.

Joseph...I have only been playing about 4 years and I understand what you are going through. I live about an hour and a half from you and I would be happy to talk you through getting things in order. I just sold a sho bud Pro II that was rebuilt by sho-bud with super pro guts. Please drop me an e-mail and we'll get you straight.

Joseph,
It sure sounds like somebody has worked on your guitar that didn't know what they were doing. I bought a guitar like this once. I had to rearrange the undercarriage. If you feel unsure doing it yourself, get some help. Under no circumstances should there be rods crossing over other rods and rods going under cross shafts. With just a 3 x 4 setup, you should have all kinds of room under there to have it looking clean as a hound's tooth.

Joe, check your e-mail. I'll be happy to help you figure this out. I've done quite a bit of work on several brands of pedal steel. I've never worked on a Pro II, but I am in the process of buying a Pro III with a SuperPro changer. We can compare them and get this figured out. I'm e-mailing you separately. In the meantime, if anyone has a handy photo of the undercarriage of a Pro II, it would be helpful.

I have a LDG with super pro undercarriage. I can take a photo this afternoon after my day job and e-mail it to you if that will help. This is a big body Sho-Bud but I think the undercarriage is still the same.

It would ba a help. I would like to have a

crossed up. The C6 is straight as an arrow.

Joe,
Get those pull rods out from under the cross shaft and line up the bellcrank with the right finger on the changer.

Joseph, I e-mailed you picks of the LDG under carriage. It was a big file so let me know if you get them. Good luck
