I have an SE-200
Master at 4
Reverb at 5
Bass at 6
Body at 5
Treble at 1.5
Volume at 4
Depth at 3 O'clock
Expand at 11 O'clock
I don't know if you got the manual but it kind of explains how to set things. What I did was with all knobs off and my guitar on both necks wide open I start picking the lowest string on the guitar and bring in the bass until it slightly woofs and then I back it off one number.
Then pick the first string on your top neck and turn in the highs until you can hear it.
Next pick the tenth string on the top neck and turn the body knob until you hear the mids.
Pick your third string and turn the expand knob until you hear a change.
Same with the Depth knob pick your eighth string and turn it until you hear a change.
Set your Reverb to taste.
This should get you in the ball park. This works with any guitar I am using whether it be my Williams guitars or my Sho-Buds. In fact I use this approach on any amp I play through. |

Shorty, what exactly don't you like? Remember all of the knobs go up AND down. Also try some other amp, not everything is liked by everyone. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Stereo Steel amp, Telonics 15” speaker.

Keith thanks for the reminder on that.. Shorty: my Dwell knob on the back is between 8 and 9 o'clock..the toggle switch is on Reverb. .I love the Evans.. It took a little while to acclimate to the digital reverb. I think they are very clean and provide great tone. I never change my settings, regardless of the venue. I do not use other effects, just plug in and go! I like the sound of my 85 Zumsteel with Truetone single coils. Good luck! |

I use the flange setting, dwell knob is on 8 O'clock. You don't hear the flange as long as the reverb knob in front is 4 or less. The reason for this setting is it gives a very full sound. |

When I set my Volume and Master Volume at 4 my SE200 is extrmely loud. Is their a possibility their might be a issue with my Master pot? The taper from 0-1.5 is extreme. |

Jeff, I wish I could tell you how to solve the problem, but I can't. The Evans amp has many control knobs. One knob changed in movement can change how the other settings work.
Scott Buffington who builds the amps would be the best person to ask about knob settings. I would contact Scott at Evans amps. |

I found these settings somewhere on the internet. I think it may have been here on the forum in an old post. I run my Evans amp. on Mr. Huey's settings with a GFI steel.
Mr. John Huey settings. Bass 7, Depth down, Body 9, Expand straight up, Treble .5 not to 1.
Mr. Mike (Cookie) Jones, Bass 5, Depth Strait up, Body 7, Expand straight down. Treble 2 ?.
Quite a difference in even Mr. Huey and Mr. Jones settings.
In the same article someone had about a Mod. to the Treble by adding another component so the treble had more usable adjustment. |
