I bought a mini effect pedal and want to attach it to the leg of my guitar.
What is the best way you know how to do it without harming the unit in any way? I've seen some good ideas here but a search turned up no responses.
It's an ep booster

a double ended jackplug, just plug it into the guitar, no damage to the unit or guitar

Attaching a leg-clip should be possible on almost any small unit, with a bit of care. Here is one of mine, where I used a leg-clip from George L...
Things to watch out for...
- As you will have to drill up for two small screws, the unit must be opened to see that neither the drillbit nor those screws end up where they do damage to the electronics inside.
- Test the chosen placement of the clip beforehand, to make sure the jack at the leg-side can be inserted and pulled out with the unit clipped onto the leg.
What screws that will work best depends on the wall-thickness of the unit.
I used steel sheet metal screws that was just long enough to protrude on the inside of the box. Predrilled with a smaller bit so the screws would bite really well. |

Judging from the photo, the pedal appears to be small and light enough that you could possibly attach the clip (suggested by George) using velcro strips rather than screws. |

I have also gone the GeorgeL clip route. I have attached my clip to the access plate on the back of the pedal. That way you can take the plate off to drill and if you want more than one pedal you can stack them on the back right leg. Just use short patch cables to hook them up. Tom Bradshaw's dobro pedal has the clip attached that way. I just stole the idea. |

Thanks for the replies
The double ended jack plug is the cleanest, but I've got my tuner over there so I bought one of these George L leg brackets available here on the S.G.F. in Accessories.
Velcro attachment is my first choice. |

Hot glue is the best invention ever. Hot glue the unit to a leg clip. You can peel off the glue later with no damage to anything. _________________ Franklin D10 8&5, Excel D10 8&5. Both amazing guitars! Homemade buffer/overdrive with adjustable 700Hz "Fender" scoop., Moyo pedal, GT-001 effects, 2x TDA7294 80W class AB amps, or 2x BAM200 for stereo. TT12 and BW1501 each in its own closed back wedge. Also NV400 etc. etc... |

Those Xotic units are heavy enough that I wouldn't trust them to a straight jack. I'd go hot glue first. |

Here's how it turned out. Used the hot-glue gun, seems really solid.
We'll see how it holds up. But for now I'm very happy with it.

Here's a little tray I made from some sheet metal, velcro, and the Showpro clip.
