Did you really use some as "grill cloth"?
There really should be some space between the weave to let the sound out! |

It is/was grill cloth. I removed it from a water damaged PA Speaker Cab. It housed 4 smaller speakers. It seemed to work fine except the cab was rotted and a speaker was water damaged.
