Here's a question.
I play a 10 string Ben-Rom pedal steel.
I find that I want the feel of the heel of the steel bar closer to the joint between my thumb and palm but if I try this with my 10 string BJS bar I find I'm 'short' on the upper strings.
(I guess there are 12 string players using a 10 string bar but their input might be just be too confusing for me.)
So... are there 10 string players using a 12 string bar?
Pros and cons??? _________________ Ben-Rom #017 'Lorelei', Guild D25, Epiphone 'Joe Pass', Roland 40XL, Hilton VP

No cons I know of. I am using a 12 string bar on my D10. I find it more comfortable for the same reasons you described. |

I use a 10 string bar on my 12 string guitar. I have big hands but it's easier for me to do slants and hammer ons with a 10 string bar. |

Me too. I have yet to encounter a situation in which I need anything longer. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
