"Hawaii to Calcutta: A Tribute to Tau Moe"
- Debashish Bhattacharya
Debashish actually met Tau Moe, who famously imported Hawaiian guitar into India in the 1940's (after a vichitra vina, played with a glass egg, had been imported into Hawaii the other way, sometime in the late 1800's. (?) Maybe. Unless maybe an Indian SAILOR found an egg in Hawaii?)

Debashish actually has some affinity for playing slow, playful, and mellow-toned Hawaii-style stuff, and there are some duets and team efforts with "real" Hawaii guys. Although, the first cut DOES tend to remind you that he's been practicing for 2000 years (counting earlier re-incarts) and You're Not.

The tone on this YouTube version is harsher than the CD, but (IMO) if you're prone to watching your left hand zipping around thinking "Yeah Baby!" the lick starting at 4:12 here IS what you need to be thinking about instead:

Insert: new technical standard for bar movement. Yeah baby. More slow pretties:
