The other night I went and saw Dale Watson opening for Asleep at the Wheel at a small club in Indy. Don Pawlak was on steel. Now, being an old guy, I'm not a fan of clubs where you have to stand throughout the entire show but I did... right in front of the steel.
Jeez, Watson and his band were great. Watson covered all the tele/guitar work with real taste, technique and ability. Pawlak was just plain outstanding. Hugely impressive. |

Don's a great player, and one of the nicest people you would want to meet. |

Yes, that is a cooking band. Don is one of the most inventive players I know. He inspires many "now why didn't I think of that" moments every time I hear him play. And a genuinely nice guy on top of that. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

I got to know Don a long time ago when we were both living in Nashville. He's a great guy. They were in the area about a month ago and I saw a couple of shows. Don's playing and tone were outstanding on both of them. |
