Hey all,
I am looking into getting back into playing PSG. Im really interested in playing mostly the Bakersfield/ Buck Owens type stuff. That's really what got me interested in steel in the first place. I was wondering what would be the preferred Pedal/knew lever setup for that style. Would a single-neck get me most of the way there or is a double neck pretty much needed. It's kind of an open-ended question but I would love some input. Thanks a lot! |

| i think a single E9 neck with 3 pedals and 4 knee levers will get you where you want to go and keep you busy while you get there. it may not be exactly what was used by mooney, but it is the standard set up and the one that most learning materials are geared towards. the C6 neck can come later if you find yourself with time on your hands. |

By looking at Mr. Whites copendent listed on the Forum, It is basically, "The Day Set Up". Pedals 1 thru 3, CBA, D (Lower strings 4-8 to D#) knee lever LKL, F (Raise 4-8 to F#)knee lever LKR. After that additional pedals and levers seems, Are what ever you want, And placed where you want.
I played the Day Set Up for years. Then changed to a S12U, D&F knee levers mover to RK. The jury is still out on that decision. |

When I bought my first Sho-Bud... 1973. My steel guitar friend took the guitar home & made the changeover. He showed me the difference, before he did & my Left Ankle said "Hell Yeah"...
