We are proud to be offering lathe turned polymer bars .
The bars are made from wear resistant and strong thermoplastics. These have excellent tone, low friction , eliminate unwanted bar noise and are easy to grip.
We are offering these in 3/4 and 7/8 diameter bars.
We will do custom size bars as well.
Available in black or white.
These come with an excellent zippered pick/ bar pouch made by Blue Heron Case Co. The pouch is made of Denier and are lined with rip stop.
Here are the standard bars and weights available:
.75 (3/4) X 3 inch bars about 4.5- 4.7 oz $75
.75 (3/4) X 3 inch bars 5+ ounces $85

Hi Pete,
I don't live in Portland. I am east of Roseburg. I'd love to have you by if I was closer, or if you wanted to make it down , your welcome to do so.
I do get up to Portland about once a month to play with The Barn Door Slammers. We'll be playing at the Columbia Gorge festival next weekend and at the Secret Society on the 10th.
Thanks,
Todd _________________ face book page:

Ah, Roseburg...
Used to work a tree planting contract for Roseburg lumber every year in the 80's.
I lived by the motto "welfare mothers make better lovers", and met several at the Lariat back in the day. Lining up for Reagan cheese...
I miss southern Oregon, I'd like to stop by the Clinesmith factory one day! |

I'm not familiar with polymer bars. How do these compare to steel or chrome bars, with regard to tone and sustain? |

I know your a busy man, Todd, but I think you oughta tool up a prototype Clinesmith volume pedal in the same vein as the old Bigsby. Test the market, I'll be first in line.

My new Clinesmith polymer bar arrived several days ago. It's the quietest bar I've ever used. My mainstays are BJS and zirconia bars. Truth be told, I only ordered it because I wanted a Clinesmith bar to go with my two Clinesmith console guitars.
I sort of expected the polymer sound to be somewhat muted and less sustainful (not sure if that's a real word) but to my surprise, it sounds nearly as bright to my ears as my other bars. I've never tried a vintage equivalent, so I have nothing similar to compare it with. It seems to warm up to my hand and is without a doubt the most easy to grip bar, I've ever used. The Clinesmith has become my favorite bar. Now, I guess I need one in black, haha. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

I recently received my bar and can't say enough good things about it. Compared to my powder coated or stainless bars, this bar is the smoothest of all of them. It glides across the strings with minimal noise and is very easy to grip. The tone is fantastic and the sustain is very close to the stainless bar. I a new player but this is my go to bar from now on.
It's also pretty resilient material. I dropped it taking it out of the package and the fall didn't leave a mark or dent. |

|

Now my favorite bar is a little place downtown.... Just kidding.
I got a black one of the small bars from Todd when I picked up my JM style aluminum lap steel July 7th and it is perfect for the lap steel. So much so that I've ordered another that should arrive today. Don't need it but just in case mine goes missing I'll have a back up.
It's very smooth sliding with good warm tone and so close in tone to my steel bars that I have a hard time hearing a difference.
Easy to hold for hammer on and pull off which I still need to improve in my playing.
Think I may get one of the larger ones for my pedal steel soon.
Todd is an artist and perfectionist, so I'd say anything you buy that he makes will make you a happy steeler. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Hey Neighbor , I'd like to come by and visit sometime Considering how close we are to each other, it amazes me that our paths never cross. Maybe I'll drop by to give one of your polymer ars a "drive ". What time is best for you? Weekends ok? |

Hi Stranger. I never leave the Mt. unless Salmon are running, so I guess that's why we never bump into each other.
A visit would be great. Jerry Gleason is talking about coming up as well, maybe we could do "a thing". If not anytime. I am usually pluggin' away 7 days a week. Probably toward the end of day is best, but I am flexible.
I should warn you that my road is 4X4 only... _________________ face book page:
