I am new to the steel world, though I have played guitar for 49 years of the 62 that I have lived.
I wonder about what strings you people favor.
I just bought a used 6 string lap steel and got a set of Black Diamond Chromium Flat wounds. Size is 52-12 ga.
I figure the flatwounds would have less noise on the slide.
Tell me what you think and use. |

I use SIT's. a pretty good string. I have read Ernie Ball and Jagwire's are good also. |

PS...If you call them they will make you a special set up to your standards at no charge and will send them out the same day!!!!

I used to use GHS Boomers, I have gone to using Live Steel. In my humble opinion they have been the best I have used.I tried George L's, SIT Buddy Emmons. But I have gotten better tone response from Live Steel Strings. |
