It's not a lap steel, or at least it didn't start out as one. It's a cheap Japanese guitar from the 1970s that's been through a band saw.

And, at least eyeballing it, I'd say those fret markers are totally meaningless!

You are correct Bill ! Length from nut to 12th fret doesn't match the length from 12th fret to the bridge ! Very Happy
