Bob.. Howard guitars are no longer built.. I think they are decent quality, but may have an out dated design... They run cheap !!

Pedal Master is a good quality modern steel guitar.. several forumites have them, use them and love them.... CAREFUL however.. there was another Pedal Master guitar built in the late 50's early 60's... These also run cheap when they are found, but are probably not what most guys would want for day to day playing.

The Maverick is a cheap student model made by Sho Bud... Low quality, high price IMHO... I would steer clear... bob

Thanks, Bob.. Always get an insightful answer from you! I don't think the maverick on eBay is a bud, though... check it out ... The Texas Longhorn logo on the cross bar isn't familiar .. unless you're from AUSTIN!

Here's the link. You're right - that one's not a Sho-Bud. I've never seen anything like it before.

Obviously a "home-built" guitar. (That's one step lower than a "garage-built" guitar.)

The "Maverick" plate on the pedal-bar was stolen from a '70s Ford automobile of the same name. I believe it was a Pinto with a thyroid condition.

Wow, that "Maverick" sure is a short lookin' guitar! Reminds me of my first pedal steel...an 8 stringer that was way to short to use a volume pedal with, unless you kept it just to the right of, but not underneath, the guitar.
