A basic question. (I can't find in the Quilter literature). Is it possible to run the Quilter Pro Block 200 with headphones out (i.e.silently with no speaker)? _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

Hi Tom,
I'm pretty sure you can do this. See this link for some details: http://www.quilterlabs.com/index.php/support/faq/
Note that the Pro Block 200 (fwiw, I'm now gigging with one all the time), doesn't have a dedicated headphones out. Per the FAQ, you can probably just grab the "send" from the effects loop and use that. That would have the pre-amp tone shaping built in.
However, the FAQ mentions - though not vis-a-vis the Pro Block 200 specifically - that a headphone amplifier might be need to boost the signal sufficiently for headphones. Also, my understanding of even the direct out on the amp is that the interaction between the amp and speaker affects the sound. Ergo, if you're bypassing the power amp section entirely, the tone might be slightly different than you would otherwise experience. I could be wrong about that.
I'll just add that Quilter has always been super communicative with me whenever I've sent them questions about their products. You might just send an email to their support line and see what they say. |
