My most favorite "steel Guitar" of a few, A koa "Georgeboards" I got from George about twelve years ago. Everything else I have is Maple or Korina. For some strange reason, this one has a tone and sound as no other. I've used Fender Twins for my amps for the last 45 years, I know amps don't matter, to me anyway. I wish George would post some pictures of this beauty, as I'm a complete, obsolete, old fool with no computer knowledge. If'n George would oblige, you'd all see a beautiful and wonderful sounding steel guitar. Once again, thanks George. Jay Y. |

Thanks Jay for the Kind Words and Continued Support over the Years.
My Older Brother is the owner of Hawaiianwoods.com on maui.
This is where the wood came from to build 5 necks, in my early console daze.
Henry Allen of Napili Hawaii was the person who made it all happen for me , eventually all of the descending console owners.
He wanted me to make consoles at a time when I was making Laps and no desire to make consoles at all.
I told him my basic deal is to match funding for a new design, and had 3000 problems to match to be able to make enough consoles to be able to sell one to his friend and neighbor.
So off to the neighbor's house he went to return with some of the matching funds , from my original sponsor Jazz Guitarist George Benson.
I ended up making 5 necks 2 went to George Benson 2 went to Jay's Guitar and 1 went to make a S8 this owned by the president - owner of the Blues Hall of Fame in San Diego California.
The second batch was 2 double 8's and 2 single 8's, The Double 8 Walnut is my personal player, the second D8 was Ricky Davis's endorser that he sold to Rick Alexander , now willed to Jeff Strauss. The 2 single 8's the "King and Queen" KOA's are now sold to private collectors.
So much for the romp through History.
Below are some photos at the 2002 Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree, before I sold Jay His Princess , it passed inspection by the Best of the Best!!

George, I just 'gutta bring this to the top again. This D 8 Koa Is the most wonderful sweetest sounding Hawaiian Guitar I've ever played. All my others are Maple Bodied that are great, Fender, Shobud, Gibson, all have their place in my music that used to be. This D 8 Koa Georgeboards is the most relaxing sounding Steel I've ever played, I mean it. Jay |
