I have a silver corner NV 400 with a BW 1502 speaker. This is the original speaker and I think the 1502 is a bass speaker because of the ribs in the cone. I have a 1501 in a speaker cab I use with an amp head. Is there much difference in sound when the 1501 is used in the NV 400? I have heard the black corner 400's have the 1501 instead of the 1502. I have never had a side by side comparison of the two in the amps, so if I switched them I might like the sound but could not compare side by side. For those of you that have had a side by side comparison what differences did you see? Any thoughts are appreciated.

There is a major difference in response. When Peavey changed to the 1501-4 speaker it lost lows and the reason the Lemay mod and ultimately Peavey redesigned the tone circuit to restore the frequency (tone) response.

Definitely a difference in tone. I much prefer the 1502. I am using a Telonics with it and another bass amp head. I pretty much don't like it, but need the weight reduction. I may have to start using the 1502 again.
