Sorry to hear that. I met him once when he came to one of our Florida Steel Guitar Club jams several years ago.

He was well known for working on steels.

Condolences to the family.

What very sad news, Joe. Albert and Leon Roberts (who just passed away 6 weeks ago) teamed up to do some beautiful steel repair and restoration work. The "Tallahassee Team" is back together again...may they both rest in peace.

I never met Albert, but I know his work. He set up my p/p right before I bought it.
Another expert has left us.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Albert was a very nice man, and did a pretty fine job of setting up push-pulls. He built a two-piece case set for one of my PP Emmonses.

Last time I was in Tallahassee, I called him, and his wife brought him over to the bus to hang out for a few hours...He was a peach of a human being, and he loved the steel guitar...RIP Albert my friend..

Sorry to hear this news! I met Albert Johnson many years ago while I was on tour with a Nashville Road Band. We were playing in Tallahassee and he and another friend came in the club that I was playing in. I remember them being friendly and of course we talked alot of Steel Guitar. Also, I remember them introducing me to another Steel Guitarist that lived in that area. That player's name was Y.J. Alan who was a fine steel guitarist. However, what I remember most was our discussions of Doug Jernigan. Doug was a early hero of mine and they knew him during his early years. All were Great Guys! Prayers for Albert's Family and many Friends!
