Who's steeling with Ricky? He reminds me of Doug Jernigan, but the photo isn't very clear.

I just saw Ricky and Kentucky Thunder last month in New Hampshire...unfortunately, no steel player I agree with you guys - that looks like Doug. He plays some mean fiddle tunes on steel. |

I would love to hear Doug with Ricky. You know he can burn a solo on Country Boy.

That's definitely Doug and his Zumsteel. I first found out what a steel guitar is in the 80s when I watched Ricky's "Don't Get Above Your Raisin'" video. Bruce Bouton was in Ricky's band at the time |

That's Doug. He was briefly on the Skaggs band but decided to get off the road and focus on sessions. _________________ Bill Cunningham

If Doug tabbed out every note he gets in on "Orange Blossom Special", Rick, that's a few hundred pages right there! |

Apparently, they're together again at the Nashville Palace, tomorrow night. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

Is that a recent picture of Ricky?...if so he has lost a lot of weight. I thought Ricky had given up on electric music, that's what he said when I saw him about 8 years ago at the Birchmere. |

That's great if he has lost weight and gone back to electric music. I thought the electric stuff in the first part of his career was by far his best. When I saw him at the Birchmere all he could talk about was how good deep fried turkey was (it was before Thanksgiving and he did a lot more talking than singing). His performance just didn't have much energy. |

Saw Ricky at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival a few years ago.All acoustic.Pretty laid-back,and I think it worked for that audience-they tend to be purists, but I'd have liked a little Ray Flacke and Bruce. |
