Stuart,
I was looking for an original case for my New Yorker for some time, in vain. Eventually, I settled on a shotgun case. It's all explained in the thread below.

I hope that helps! By the way, what New Yorker have you got? Mine's a 1947 model with brass fingerboard (not painted apart from the fret markers).
Best regards,
Fred |

Thanks Fred. The gun cases look great and your right, they are cheap. I would prefer an original, but hey ho.
My New Yorker is said to be 1941 serial no 1726G is that correct.
It has had some modifications, ie. a different pickup fitted. I am trying to find out if it would have had the clear pickup cover ?? or a wooden cover. At present it has the two screw retainers and a metal plate pickup cover with 3 a side holes, screwed into two metal blocks either end of the new ( humbucker ) pickup.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks STUART |
