Both Phil and tommy played in a band called “Goldrush” in the 80s. Tommy had to play drums as they already had Phil playing guitar. He was a monster player and probably preferred electric guitar but a wonderful acoustic player as well.

I ran into Phil one day at a store where they had done some electrical work on my steel. I was giving it a try out and in walks Phil, picks up an electric guitar and we trade pedal steel licks. Whatever I played he just seemed to play it just as well using his pinky wrapped around the volume pot. He was a terrific bloke and leaves a large hole in Australian music.

There's a video of Tommy & Phil playing an amazing twin guitar version of "Sugarfoot Rag" on some old Aussie TV show on a pair of beat up old Telecasters. He was a really hot player for sure.. RIP Phil.. Was he Tommy's older or younger brother, just curious..........JH in Va.
