Hey guys if you will goto my site you can download the Tab and listen to the Demo of "Were Going Steady" on Zane Beck's Tuning E9/6 open with no knees or floors. I'll post the .wav file later. You will need Adobe to download the tablature. |

Dan, the track is an EXE file. That won't work on my Mac, plus it's dangerous to download EXE files from the internet as they can easily be infected with viruses.
A ZIP file would be much better. |

Bob, thanks, I made a self-extracting EXE. I'll replace it with a .zip.
Thanks |

Larry,
great Idea, I've got to convert it. My Recording deck will record down to a Audio CD or a .Wav file. I will look at converting it. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Dan, The tuning Zane gave me did not have the F# to F on the up lever . Zane King lowers the G# to F# with that lever, as do some others. I think this may be a misprint. |

Bob,
I had Don Fritche of BMI to fax me the last setup on Zane's guitar before he died. According to his information this is how Zane Beck had his steel tuned. I do have Zane Kings Copedant and you are correct about Zane King's tuning. According to those who I interviewed that were close to him said it wasn't nothing for Zane to Change to try to develop the opt. tuning.
Thanks, |

Hey Dan - I was looking at the pedal chart for Zane on your site. What is the significance of string 12 RKL B-> -B. Is that supposed to be B-> -Bb like on string 9 or what? |

Sorry,
Yes, B goes to Bb. How is the Emmons, have you got it back yet?

Wouldn't "no knees or floors" be more like "non-pedal", such as in the No Peddlers section? |

Jerry,
the reason for doing this was to give those who might be interested in looking at Zane's tuning to change their open tuning to match Zane's and then play along with the tab to see if they found value in the tuning for themselves, that way they didn't have to go and change any floors or knees.
You can find out the limitation of any tuning when it's played open. Please understand that this was just a demonstration.
Some good advice Bobby Bowman gave me once, was to learn as much about your tuning open first and find it's limitations then learn the applications of the floors and knees.
I have personally found this advice to be priceless.
