Yes! The word is out that JayDee and Lloyd have recorded a Steel Guitar tribute to the legendary 1968 Byrds album "Sweetheart Of The Rodeo". The forthcoming CD will be a piece of music history that no steel player or enthusiast should be without.

In collaboration with JayDee and Lloyd, a commemorative oil painting has been commissioned and art prints will soon be available. By ordering before the printing / release date, you can get one of these signed personally to you (with the words of your choice) by both Lloyd and JayDee. The window of opportunity for a personalised print is open right now so don't delay! Please read more by clicking this link:

What will the print look like? Probably not (at least not exactly) like the photo shown (aspect ratio doesn't match 16 by 12). Would be nice to know in advance.

You are correct, Deiter. This is a mockup and I won't have the EXACT dimensions until the painting is photographed next week and a border added. I will at that time have a duplication ready master and will proceed from that point. The dimensions will be as close to 12X16 as feasible. I've found this to be a convenient and popular size. There will be color improvements as well. From experience I can tell you that it will be a stunning print, and the first I've done with two players. Two for the price of one!

Mike or anyone,
Is there an expected release date on this CD?

Originally it was to be released in August, but that has be moved to October. It should be out soon and there will be no shortage of promotion on it. Smile

Thanks Mike.
Like most of us, I assume, it would be hard to point to just one event that piqued my interest in pedal steel enough to actually buy one and get started but Sweetheart of the Rodeo has always been way up on my list of major starting influences.
I am so glad that both Lloyd and JD are #1 still with us and playing well and #2 willing to put the effort in to do this album so I will definitely be standing in line when this CD comes out.
