Here are a couple of cuts from the “Deep Feelings†album that Julian cut for Scotty on Mid-Land Records in 1984. He’s making his magic on a Sierra 14-string tuned E6/9.
Lost Indian
Amazing Grace
Julie
“Julie†was written by Julian for his daughter – vocal by Chuck Raue. Russ Wever plays bass on the album - hopefully he’ll chime in with a memory or two about Julian and the session itself. The great Bobby Caldwell plays guitar. From his SGHOF plaque:
BOBBY CALDWELL
A VIRTUOSO ON THE LEAD GUITAR WITH A LONG AND SUCCESSFUL CAREER, HE WAS THE STAFF GUITAR PLAYER AT THE INTERNATIONAL STEEL GUITAR CONVENTION AS WELL AS MANY OTHER SHOWS THAT PRECEDED THE ISGC FROM 1968 THROUGH 2008. STEEL PLAYERS WORLDWIDE HAVE ADMIRED AND CHERISHED BOBBY’S GIFT OF ADAPTING TO THE UNIQUE STYLE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL ARTIST
