This is a very nice 1979 Baldwin Ode 6500 D series , 5 string banjo. The serial # is 5-79-16 . I had Frank Neat to completely set the banjo up + install new frets, new head and a new case three years ago. This banjo plays and sounds very good.$2500. no trades. Ron

Folks,

Although I don't know this banjo or this seller, I can assure you as an Ode collector that this is a low price for one of these. ,

Darryl, Thank you for the comment. These are very good banjo's. Unfortunately the banjo market is down or this one would have sold for a lot more money. I have sold and bought on the forum for quite a few years with no negative come backs or returns. Ron

Ron, if I weren't banjo poor I'd jump on this. If it's good enough for Bobby Thompson it's good enough. Great look and price!

Well Lyle, I'm not banjo poor but I do have a TB-11
that I tried to sell last year so I could keep this one and couldn't give it away either. I play mostly steel with a little banjo and I would like to get down to one. I've had a couple guys tell me that this banjo has more of a pre war sound than the Gibson. Frank Neat told me that he doesn't have a lot
of Baldwin's come through his shop but this was one of the better sounding he had heard. Ron
