Guitarist Bill Frisell is coming to our area; does anybody know if he will be using a pedal steeler on the gig?

on his website, it looks like bill is touring two groups right now; one seems to feature vocal harmonies, and the other is his freewheeling trio with kenny wolleson and tony scheer. neither have greg leisz (or any other steeler).
i've seen bill frisell a few times live and it's always an amazing experience, steel player or not. |

Agreed. You often have no idea what to expect (set-wise) when Frisell plays a show. Sometimes it's reflective of a recent album, sometimes it's something altogether different. But his combos are always impeccable players and he is simply out of this world. I'm sure anyone here who knows would share the opinion that Frisell shows are best when Greg Leisz is accompanying him, but it will always be a compelling, sometimes challenging show. Go with an open mind/open ears and there's a good chance you'll walk away astounded. |
