Does anyone have any experience or advice relating to the Le Clean Tube Preamp? A friend at Sweetwater told me this may get me a better sound through my two Vegas 400 amps. But ... he is not a steel player either. Any advice or experience that you could pass on will be most appreciated. Still looking for that elusive "magic" sound. $ 299.00 shipped. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing me to that. Seems mostly positive from what I read. Thanks again.

I see several reviews on Amazon and Sweetwater that refer to lots of (too much) highs. That would be a negative if it can't be controlled.

Although a different "animal", I have a Tech 21 Para Driver DI SansAmp for guitar that I use in my home recording studio and works great for guitar but poor for steel.
